Pyruvic acid which is produced in glycolysis is transported into the mitochondria where it is converted into acetyl CoA. Then, CoA enters the Krebs' cycle that takes place in the matrix of the mitochondria. NADH2 and FADH2 are generated in the Krebs' cycle.
